  • First, download the MySQL Installer package from the MySQL official site.
  • If you run the downloaded .msi extension file, click “Install MySQL Products” in the window that appears.
  • Accept the license terms and click the “Next” button.
  • Press the “Execute” button in the incoming window. If you are connected to the internete, the program will search for the latest package contents and update to the installation package. If you have just downloaded the MySQL Installer package, no updates will be made.


  • The next window will give you 5 different options for installation:
  • Developer Default: An option that installs all package content.
  • Server only: An option only installed by Server.
  • Client only: An option to install all package content except Server.
  • Full: A package of all package content.
  • Custom: An option that allows the user to select packages to install.


  • Here we select Developer Default and press the “Next” button. You can change the option to suit your needs.
  • The next window will check the programs that should be in your system depending on the type of installation selected. If it finds a deficiency, it downloads and installs it. When done, press “Next” button.
  • Start the installation by pressing the “Execute” button:
  • After all the setups have finished, press “Next” button.
  • After configuring the products displayed in the next window, press “Next” button.
  • After selecting “Developer Machine“, press “Next” button.


  • Select the “Enable TCP / IP Networking” and “Create Windows Service” options in the incoming window. In the “Port Number” section enter a port number (3306) and a service name in the “Windows Service Name” section. After making the password entries, check the options and press “Next” button.
  • Finally, finish the installation by saying “Finish“.
  • MySQL was installed successfully and will start automatically.
