Mountain Range

  • About mountain range. What does Mountain Range mean?
  • The mountain range is a mountain community formed by the merging of many mountains.

  • It separates one from the other, the rivers from the other, and the earth forms similar to it. Some mountains in the same mountain range may have different geological features than others. Volcanoes, mountains or fold mountains can be formed from different rock types. Most of the geologically young mountain ranges on Earth’s surface are either the Pacific Ring of Fire or the Alpine Belt.

  • The mountain systems of the earth are characterized by a tree structure, where mountain ranges can contain sub-ranges. The sub-range relationship is often expressed as a parent-child relationship.
