  • What does http mean?
  • HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol) is a kind of network access that is distributed and shared in a certain resource base.


  • We are faced with Http everywhere we use a web browser, and we use the http command so that network communication can be done correctly before logging into internet sites.

  • Http History
  • Since 1990, HTTP has been used for global information initiatives on the World Wide Web (WWW).
  • The first version, referred to as HTTP / 0.9, was a simple protocol for the purpose of moving raw data over HTTP. HTTP / 1.0, defined in RFC 1945, contains meta-information and request / response semantics for the transported data, and
  • MIME has expanded the previous version with innovations such as the ability to move messages of interest.
  • Nevertheless, HTTP / 1.0 hierarchical surrogates (proxy) were insufficient to account for cache, persistent connection needs, and the impact of virtual servers.
  • In addition, unsophisticated methods of applications, referred to as HTTP / 1.0, were insufficient to fully understand the capabilities of the two applications communicating with each other, and this version required an innovation.


  • This new version, known as HTTP / 1.1, contains the serial requirements needed to reliably implement the protocol and appears to be more secure than the 1.0 version of the protocol.
  • Applied information systems need a lot more practice than simply getting information. These applications also require functionality such as searching, updating the end user interface, and interactively entering information.


  • HTTP allows the use of a number of open-ended methods and headers that describe what the purpose of a request is. A uniform resource identifier is established on a set of rules that inform the application of a method to the resource provided by the locator or resource name. Sentences are transmitted in a format that is defined by the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions and used in Internet mail.


  • HTTP is also used as a customized protocol for communication between user clients, proxy servers and Gateways, as well as Internet systems that support SMTP, NNTP, FTP, Gopher, and WAIS protocols.

  • Request-response is one of the basic methods used by computers to talk to each other. When RequestReply is in use, the first computer sends a request and the second computer responds to this request.
